Nanostructural drug delivery is a well burgeoning field now-a-days, and it is all about delivering the desired drug to the right place at the right time. Nanosize drug delivery systems modernize the drug delivery as nanomaterial formulations are expected to open up new prospects in improving our perception of drug action mechanism as well as identification of biomarker associated with specific diseases. Nanosize carriers augment in building up new strategies for the delivery of therapeutically active agents such that they can particularly target the drug to cells or tissue of choice reducing side effects elevating the therapeutic proficiency. Nanomedicine embark on wider possibilities for drug delivery in personalized medicine focusing on identifying the targets involved in the etiology of the disease rather than addressing the symptomology and choosing to track down the genetic risk factors as targets for diagnostic and therapeutic intervention is the key point. Nanocomposites are the future hope as they address the many challenges of delivery of a wide range of drugs owing to their submicron particle size range, easily mutable surface characteristics achieving adept tissue targeting, controlled and sustained drug release properties accomplishing prolonged exposure to drug there by escalating therapeutic efficacy with comparatively reduced side effects. Riveting properties of nanosized materials, in nanoscaled drug delivery systems revolutionize the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology renovating all spheres of pharmacy and medicine; and sustained interest in terms of research and entrepreneurship as well as investments, both financial and intellectual, in this area will continue to provide profound and promising results in curing every disease that was previously incurable. The major issues concerning the nanoparticle´s toxicity in terms of in vivo use as well as environmental effects and limitation in the use of nanomaterials for human diagnostics need to be addressed besides which nanomedicine can be benediction to mankind.
